Marantz CD63 & CD67 mods list

Well it's a MK1 as the transformer is the same as in the 63KI but thats not an issue as I will be riping that out.

The CD17 is wonderfully built too @ 8Kg.

No point it's not good enough!

It loses out to these modified Marantz CD6002 and Cambridge 640V2 I have here.

Looks very well built Brent, nice. Extra regs in the analog stage! Lucky it's not an mkIII with the PCM1716... The SMDs are a bit hard to upgrade though, what are you going to do with the analog stage? I can see the good old 2114 is there .

Looking at the service manual this one is a MK2 with a different decoder section.

Yes i'm glad it's not a MK3 (apart from the nice tx they have). I will get the discrete working in here. Some of the smds will be made non smd lol.

Build is superb, the standard chassis (before all the extra bits bolted on) is thicker grade metal than the 63 67 stuff.

It looks nice, should be good with a few hundred £ spent on it, but will it rival your CD63???

I don't think it can get any better, if it does then great. What I will say is to get to the level the 63 is at it will require less upgrades.

The drawback of a TDA1547... so many supply pins! You could use even more if you like . Is it also surrounded by voltage dividers in your CD17 Brent? I'm working on a CD72mkII and have the same problem .
