Can someone sumarise the last 500+ pages into a list of popular mods that work well and should probably be done first?

I've got a 67OSE sat here doing nothing so I'm thinking of learning as I go and if I break it then tuff ****!! I'm also looking out for a CD10 as these seem to be fairly beefy transports, are they similar in anyway?
Cheers

Matt, please don't try and circumvent the language censor. I don't like editing manually.

Sorry, I didnt realise there was a sensor, none of the other forums I use has one. I just inserted a * as others seem to, at least I know for future reference

Thanks for your understanding. I'll think you'll find this forum is more suited to the thinkers than the swearers. (did I just invent a word?)

It's been said many times and I'm tired and steamed... but here's a good place to start:

Power supply work and reclocking are the two most important things to do.

Happy New Year everyone!

HI.

Happy New Year

Thoughts for further mods :-
1. Tray mechanism - some other machines use modded cdm12

2. uP and front panel

Best Wishes to All

Ray,

Can I confirm with you with regards to the mod of the DAC section, CD05, 06, 12 & 13, when replaced with ecaps, do I have to take note of the polarity?

If yes, which side is the negative and which is the positive?

Yes, the polarity is important. The idea of this mod is to place the electrolytics closer to the DAC chip, and replace the 100n on the bottom side of the PCB in parallel with the electrolytic. The minus has to be connected to the ground-plane, the larger copper area that runs under the DAC and connects to U208 (U203 for a CD63).

Regards,

Ray
