The layout is very simple, it's almost point-to-point. I mounted the LM317 with it's front towards the PCB, so the pinning matches better. Here's another pic of the other side of the boards.

But I want to try the Tentlabs shunt regulators in the near future, see if that changes things even more positive.

After my output-stage fever has cooled down i'm going to take a look at the ground plane/star point stuff.

Ray.
old day's of floating earth amps haunts me

ALW did some stuff with the 317/337's within psu's
the output is referenced to grd
any noise on grd will affect the output

My Tent reg used 317 instead od 7808
separated clean grd for reg grd was better

Hi Dave,

Well, then the analog +/-12V supply is your best option for now...
A dedicated supply is the best solution.

Ray.

Nah, this circuit deserves something better....
Really, it's worth the $$$ to invest in a good cap.

You think Warren G and Nate Dog considered Audiocom regs?

Yes they did but apparantly they would not fit in their Geto Blasters LOL

Hi Brent,

That's a nice line-up. I thought you had no more room in that player of yours ???

Hi Allan,

You mean this one? Made a nice PDF of it. Maybe i'm going to use this for separate regs for the DAC and decoder, instead of the PSU series inductors I use now. Very easy replacement.
