Default Best cheap multiplayer for modification

Hi all,

what cheap multiplayer (at least dvd,cd and sacd, optional dvd-audio) would you recommend that has high potential for modification? It would be nice if the mods are documented in reasonable detail on the web to have a good starting point.

Thanks.

Yamaha 2300 perhaps (not bone cheap, but good discount for 799 euro)

Thanks for the suggestion. You're right, I was thinking a little cheaper Just a minimal player that has the basic building blocks right and that won't cost an arm and a leg in case I completely ruin the mod. I'm no EE, so the risk of failure while modding is quite real.

There has been some discussion in these forums about the Pioneer 575 which seems to be highly regarded and cheap (<140)
