Default Question about CD modification

Hello,

I'm from Poland, so sorry for my English, I have a little request about CD upgrade.

My system is:
- Marantz CD6000
- Marantz PM7000 amplifier
- Marantz ST6000 tuner
- B&W CDM 1 SE loudspeakers
- interconnect is testing (Monter Interlink 400 Mk II, Van den Hul The First Ultimate, Cable Talk Professional, Oelbach, Albedo, Siltech SQ28G3, Cardas) - Probably best for me is Van den Hul The First Ultimate.
- I listen rock, blues, acoustic, 1960-70 hard rock

I upgraded clock to TENT-XO, capacitors 100pF to Silver Mica about opamps, Elna Standard to Cerafine and Silmic in suppling, better power cable and now it is time to op-amps.

I have Marantz CD6000 (not OSE, not KI) with 2xNJM2114 op-amps. I want to change it to better but which should I try and buy: OPA2604, OPA2134, OPA2132, OPA627, AD825, AD826, AD275, LM6172. I have BurrBrown adapter so which of them are trustworthy to achieve less bright, more relaxing and warm sound, no painful with hard rock recording at bad recorded CDs, no fatiguing and ephasizes on the mid/up frequentzy ?

And should I decoupled by capacitor between + and - opamp power suppling (pins 4 and 8) ?

Thank you very much
Best Regards

Aleksander Jelonek

Hi Alex2,

I have a Marantz (older tho) and that came with NJM2114. I replaced it with OPA2604 and listened for about a year. I'd say don't do it! At the moment I am trialling OPA2132 and I intend to try others too (I put in sockets). 2132 is much better 'behaved' than 2604 - much less midrange glare on vocals, less noise and mess, more like real music, less like digital cr@p. It's more detailed and better textured than the original or the 2604.

Regards
