Hi,

I've just done the registration a few days ago, because I'm
planning to reactivate one of my hobbies: Audio DIY.

But at first I need some help:
Can anyone give me a hint, where to buy special
electronic parts like DACs (AD1865, TDA1541 ...)
, digital receivers and other audio parts.
My common used sources do not provide such specialities,
and in the moment it seems really hard to find one.

Maybe someone knows good distributors in Germany or Europe ?

I'm planning to build a top-loading CD-Transport using
the cd-pro set from philips.
In the second step I'd like to design an own display/controller-Board using AVR-CPU (I have already experience with this CPUs)
Next step could be a non-os DAC, as I read some post's and
reviews with growing interest.

I've got alreay build:
- a pair of mono-amps (using albs-kit)
- a preamp with ir-remote and display (8051-based), complete design by my own
- a MC/MM-preamp

This is used with a HK7525 CD-Player (to be replaced soon)
and Dynaudio 1.8MKII (NOT to be replaced, I love them)

best regards,
michael

Hi fomi

First of all, welcome to the forum. Since I shop most of my electronics in Germany because it is cheaper than in Denmark, I was quite sure I could find your components for you, but it turned out to be rather difficult as you yourself experienced.

I have checked out Reichelt.de, Buerklin.com, Rsonline.de, and farnell.de. The last two aren’t exactly inexpensive but usually has just about anything, but no luck this time.

Digikey.com has the AD1865 as 24pin DIP (AD1865R-J-ND) or 28pin SOIC (AD1865N-ND), but ordering from the US might be a tad expensive in the end.

My best bet would be to send these guys an email: http://www.aarhus-radio-lager.dk/ - It is a Danish shop, and though they don’t have an onlineshop they can supply almost anything. I know for a fact that they can supply the TDA1541 which could turn out to be the hardest part to track down.

I won’t write their email here because of spam-spiders, but just type in their name and click the “email”-button on their page.

Where do you plan to purchase your CDpro-module from? Homeoptics? Or are there any German reseller? – I have looked at Steinmusic.de, and it doesn’t seem like they carry the CDpro.

Hi LMP76,

thanks for your reply.

I think I would contact the danish guys, if I need something special.
Reichelt has absolutely the best prices in common.
But the big distibutors don't have the audio-specialities anymore.

A good adress for passive/elektromechanic components is also schuro.
or thel.
or albs (which is 15km away from where I live)

For the CD-Pro there's a distibutor in Germany:
http://www.akustik-perfekt.de/CD-Two.htm .
He sells the CP-Pro as basic-kit up to complete kit's
including very nice housing.
He provides even r.t.r. cd-players based on CD-Pro.
There is also power-supply, analog-stage and ouput-stages
available.

I'm thinking of buying a basic-kit, perhaps with power-supply,
because I don't want to spent much time in designing and
building the supply.
I like to concentrate on a nice housing, external DA-conversion
and perhaps a custom contoller-unit with remote and display.

I've seen, that rockna
has a nice non-os DAC based on AD1865.
Seems to be a good alternative for me.
I would design I/V-conversion and analog low-pass-filtering
by myself.

Maybe for the beginning, I look around for a cheap pre-owned
DAC, like the "DAC in the box" and do a little tweaking at first.

regards,
michael
