I'm interested in adding a digital S/PDIF audio output to the Sony CDP-491, which in stock form contains only analog outputs. I think I can do so with a modified version of the circuit on the following website:
http://www.hut.fi/~jwagner/electr/minidisc-spdif/ I am unsure where to obtain the 2:1 transformer that is shown on the TI RCA/BNC stage schematic. It is listed as a 'Scientific Conversion SC982-04 or equivalent'. I was unable to locate this part at DigiKey, and a Google search did not locate other online sources. Does DigiKey carry another part that can be substituted in this circuit? If not, where can I obtain a suitable transformer? |
