I am interested to build a new I/V-output stage for my philips dvd 963sa with ad1955 dac inside. I am not interested in opamps.
I am not an expert, just soldering the smart designs of other people. I have searched the forums but I have lost my way. Can somebody point me in the direction of a design that is easy to built. I have heard of the D1 of Pass, is that usable and still state of the art ? I cannot find the schematic. |

The problem with the "Rockna" line stage is that it is single ended, and the AD1955 has balanced current outputs. Of course you could build two per chanel, but itwould be nice is a differential I/V circuit existed. Can anyone help with a truly differential, or (better) an X I/V convertor.
Also, remember the AD1955 has quite a high current output, that some I/V's may have problems with if left un-modified. The D1 I/V convertor is two simple I/V's connected together only at the point where the attenuator works. I've toyed with the idea of using the D1 and AD1955 myself. You can get the service manual for the D1 from http://www.passlabs.com/downloads.htm Cheers, Adrian |
