Hi all,
I have found a supplier for these chips, in both date codes, but I'll need to order a number of them in order to spread the shipping costs over a group of people. Two things to consider: 1) Is there a significant difference between the 1997 and the 2000 datecode chips? If there isn't, it is probably worth it to go for the 1997 chips, because I can get them cheaper... 2) Are there enough people out there who want this part for me to swing maybe 10-15 of these chips? I need to get an idea of demand before I go out on a limb and order a couple of hundred dollars of ICs... The 1997 chips I can probably do for $20, but the 2000 will be $25... Let me know. Tom |

The last I checked, reichelt has a 100 euro order minimum, and charges 75 euro to ship less than 10kg to the USA. That's a pretty steep price to pay for one chip...

As an afterthought, I suppose my original motivation was simply to find a source for this chip, and it has proven extremely difficult. If you know of a good source, please share!
Reichelt doesn't stock this chip anymore, as far as I can tell, and the only site I found that does stock it is charging something like 30 euro. There is a supplier from China charging $50 right now. It seems to me, the only way to get this piece at an economical price is to do a bulk purchase and spread the shipping costs over a number of buyers! |

I mailed elib and this is the reply i got
---------------------------------------------- Hi Mikael, I have no CS8412CP left, only a few CS8412IP's, also dozens of CS8412CS. The price of CS8412CS is $9, $8 for 10+, and $13 for CS8412IP, plus shipment. Thanks and happy new year.
