Default Audiphile Firwire or USB soundinterface

Hello all,

I'm looking for a high-end firewire or USB2 sound interface.

I want to have 24/192kHz capability and preferably have 6 or more output channels (2 in is OK). What I have found is the Edirol FA-101 that seems to do what I want. My use for this device would be mainly two-fold: 1. I want to use it as a high-quality audio measurenet system in combination with suitable software and 2. I may want to use it for experiments with active speakers using digital crossover filters, speaker correction etc and drive each speaker with its own amp. I also prefer XLR or symmetric in and out.

Is anybody aware of any other devices than the Edirol that can do this? Does anybody know how good the Edirol is, since I want to use it for example for amplifier distortion measurements, the interface itself should have sufficiently low distortion, preferably less than 0.001%.

Any advice/tips appreciated.

Best regards

Gertjan

There are indeed other, more upmarket, solutions.

My own problem is similar, but infintely more sad: I want above quality, but with only two channels in and two channels out.

Hello Werner, Mikael,

Thanks for the tips, I'll have a look at these, the RME and MOTU look very professional, will do some searching for tests etc.

Thanks and best regards

Hi Werner,

What about the RME ADI 2 24/192 2-Channel AD/DA Converter for your purpose?
