DVD Player

I am looking to purchase a dvd/cd player (new or used) around $300us. This system is mainly for movies, but also for a bit of music. I'm looking to have dvd-rw/cd-rw capabilities along with MP3. I really only need a single disc format. Any suggestions??

Pioneer has several good models recently, capable of almost all formats. They cost about 100USD here in malaysia. When playing cds, it sounds as good as several marantz players.

For that much money, you can buy a DVD-Recorder. I suggest Pioneer DVR-225. I believe it's less than $300.

I don't really need a recorder.....I have one on my puter.

For that price, you get a good quality machine. There are other chinese made models that cost 50USD but its ****.

There is a review for a SAMSUNG multi disc palyer in Sound and Vision magazine that will play SACD. It lists for about $250US. I don't have the mag here so I don't know the model.

There are some denon (immitations?) and other funny names that I cant remember.. too many of them. We have lots of chinese goods here and I just bought them to use the casing, etc..
