Recommended MP3 Playback

Would it be possible to get an MP3 Deck to play through my DAC to get better sound quality????

Indirectly, does the decompression of an MP3 result in a signal that is similar to a normal CD? Thus my outboard DAC and Jitter removal can help the sound?

I'm sure quality downstream electronics can help compared to the usual low quality DACs one would expect in an MP3 player, but MP3 will always be less than CD quality.
