advice on rotel

The player (RCD-991) works for a minute to five minutes, then stops.

If the cd is taken out, then put in again, it will do the same thing.

The local dealer says it's the laser, and will replace and align it for $150.

Any opinions ?

Anyone know where I can get the laser OR the entire drive to fix it sans dealer ?

Upon further research (actually taking the cover off), I found the above p/n on the laser itself, googled it and found a place in Ohio that sells a new replacement for $7.95, it's a KSS-213B/C. Here's the link if anyone needs it. Thanks for all the views of my previous post !
