TDA 1545 , a nice sounding dac?
The low power consumption of this chip appeals to me, as I currently use a 1543 based portable dac and would like to make some power savings.
I have done some searches on this chip but could not find very much info, it does not appear to be very popular? Has anyone one compared the sound of these two chips? I would be interested in trying one as it seems to be possible to implement it into a circuit much like the 1543, which means nice and compact for my needs:D But before I begin that chore of searching out yet more obsolete parts, I would be greatful for any views people might have. It is used in the Ack dac http://www.ack-industries.com/ and there has been much rejoicing about said dac in the Digital drive of the Audioasylum http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/digital/bbs.html

Hi rfbrw
Thanks. I have read these chips sound similar to the 1541, but not having heard that chip either it does not mean a whole lot. So as with most things views will be personal and mixed... I guess I should just hunt down some 1545s and try them eh? Cheers Setmenu |
