Hi

I have a question that I hope that one of you clever guys can answer.
In trying to get the best performance from my DA converter I have ordered some PCM 1704 K grade dacs instead of the regular 1704 that are installed. Now the question is will it be better to replace the 1704 with the 1704 K version - or to piggyback the 1704K on top of the 1704???

Hope one of you can guide me in the right direction..

(And YES, I know getting more 1704K and piggyback them would be the best thing, but thats for later...)

I can't give you a direct answer on your question but I can tell that TDA1541's sound quite different in a "piggybacked" configuration (non-oversampling). Maybe this is the case with other DAC's too and I really doubt that two or four non-grade chips in parallel sound the same as a single K-grade chip.
