Hello!
I want to build a DIY-DAC. So which DAC-Chip should I use. My suggestions are: TI PCM1792 TI PCM1794 Cirrus Logic CS4398 Are there any experiences with these chips? Can anybody tell me, which products use these chips? Which is the best chip? Are there any other suggestions? Greetings, AudioAngel P.S. Sorry for my bad English. |

Well I can narrow down your selection to two chips rather then three quite easily.
The PCM1792 and 94 are exactly the same chip, give or take, so which ever you pick isnt important. The main difference between the two is how they are used. The PCM1792 requires a micro controller to use, whereas the 94 is hardware controlled = just needs pins set to high and low to set it up.

You may also want to consider the AD1955. Similar specs to your choices and a relatively inexpensive development board.
