What kind of transport mechanism can I use as a direct replacement of the CDM 12.1 used in my Marantz CD63?
Is there a way to fit a CD-PRO2M in the CD63?
Best regards.
Paul

Hello Sandor!
The replacement for the cdm 12.1 is called VAM 1202!
Regarding your second question I don't know!

Dominik

Hi,
from my point of view there are more and better possibilities to use a cdmpro2... check the thread here on "digital" some weeks ago...
But anyway - how do you think the cdmpro will fit into the L1210 loading device?

cheers

Hi,
I recently picked up a cdpro cheap with the intention of swapping it into Philips cd723 with cdm12.1 .
However, the mechanisms cannot be interchanged easily due to the use of different protocols:-

Cdm12.1 can be improved!
(Separate, and improved power supplies aswell as replacement microcontroller )
Lots of commercial, and diy examples out there!

Differences are in the clamper force from the magnet of turntable (disc motor pulley) - see attachement. Same variation is between CDM12.1 and VAM1202
