Hey Jocko...

I am interested... moreso in the separate board approach as well.

Like HPotter, I will be using the CD PRO 2 / I2S

Has anyone built the Joe Curcio (www.curcioaudio.com) DAC?

I recently came across an interesting kit: www.htechnology.net/DAC/dacs.htm

Does anyone have any experience with this one?

I built it earlier this year, and I can attest that the sound is superb--the best I've heard from digital, by a substantial margin.

The problem with a 10 year development cycle in the "chip" industry is obsolecence.... the CS4329 chip is at least 8 years old. Given the increased support of SACD recently and a plethora of universal chips.... the decision is made easier.

Im considering a cdrom as well but I dont know if it will make a difference in sound from the Pro
