It works ok when bypass saa7220 but it has pops and crackles when skipping tracks and when the music starts. In my marantz cd65fb I can't find saa7210. To restore the muting function I don't know where to connect . It might be M4803a (don't have datasheet).

Hi,
My cd650 has a M4804A instead of the 7210. Never got much info on it, but i can swap with a 7210 and the player still works. If the 4803 is also 40 pens, checkout pen 11 with a scope or multimeter. You should see it change state when playing starts. The MAB is a controller. Regards,

I don't have saa7210 to swap but m4803a pin 11 is mute . The muting function of my player is ok when pin 23 of saa 7220 connected to pin11 of m4803a. I bypassed digital filter with muting fuction restored.
thanks a lot GuidoB & jean-paul pengxy |

Hi, I just picked up on this tread. I have just bought a CD65 and know nothing about its quality, performance etc.
It sounds OK but my modified Denon DCD615 is a lot more detailed. Any suggestions on some basic mods I could make or info on machine is welcome. (I am a complete novice at mods the denon was done proffesionally). cheers Carl |

hi
1.The decouple caps of tda1541 are good to be replaced by some hi-quality caps . 2. If you don't like ic 's sound put tube after tda1541 . |
