Hi all.
Does anyone have the schematic for the AA DDE v3.0? I've had mine for a few years now but it's RHS channel has died on me. I'm sure the problem is somewhere in the analogue output stage since the 'D14' LED isn't lit.... but it's a multi-layer board and very tricky to trace. PS Since Audio Alchemy is out of business, I tried contacting Dusty Vawter but to no avail Any help would be gratefully received. thanks! |

Hi!
I don't know if it would be appropiate to post that schematic here, I like to respect copyrights... Anyway, AA has hit the dust long time ago. Send me an e-mail, I'll repply with the schematic. BTW, check those OP275 op-amps of the analog PSU, they get VERY hot, specially with the standard unregulated After you solve the problem, you may think of making a regulated PSU, you won't believe the difference in sound quality, and also much cooler running of the dac. Or, as a cheaper alternative, regulate the standard PSU, I've done it too, I could fit everything inside , it works well too. Regulate for +/-8v (digital) and +/- 18v (analog).

Hi Carlos,
just to let you know I finally got round to having a look at my DDE (have been v busy for a few months but really started to miss listening to my CD's properly!). I haven't quite fixed the problem yet, but I've found that there is no -15VAR at pin 4 of the OP176GP - it's not a PSU issue either (it checks out OK but I see what you mean about it being unregulated - it kicks out almost +/-20V (supposed to be +/-18V?) with about 0.5V difference between + and - ) ![]() Anyhow, thanks to you guys on diyAudio I'm at least making progress. Hey, assuming I get it working again can you direct me to any posts discussing upgrades of the PSU or other tweaks? thanks again! |
