i know this is a real long shot but would it even be possible to gut a panasonic sv-3800 dat deck and and just use the a/d section(with analog inputs and optical output). maybe cut the board down and mount what was needed in a project box. since the main reason for all this would be portability, it would also need to be dc powered. is this feasable or am i just dreamin' here? any thoughts be most appreciated. thanks
