Mine has less capacitance as it was requested by the previous purchaser (keep cost down). It has only been used on the carpet not nounted and it was a definite improvement on my moded marrantz cd67II.
will say though that it would be hard work to put it a nice case, thats the main reason me and the previous owner didnt finish this project. |

why does it have to be a CDM12 and not CD PRO2?

Because a CDM12 also sounds very good for less than half the cost of a working CD PRO. The CDM 12 can be modified (with an upgrade kit from Steinmusic) untill your head falls of and still it is cheaper than a CD PRO. It can also be modified in a top-loader so you can make a heavier platform (like the cd-pro...)

For me the CDM 12 is technically speaking a little bit easier. And if cost are a consideration: the CDM 12 is the better choice. Take it from me: It is a good sounding player for little money. I like it better than my CD-80 although Jean Paul finds that hard to believe. Maybe it's a matter of taste. I'm happy with my CDM 12. |

at the moment they sell CDM12 players for 9,95€ each at pollin... for those who are intertested in tesing one for really cheap
