Hi,

how can this chip be configured for 16bit output ?

I have an external dac with YM3434 digital filter, does it have to be reconfigured too ?

Or is any schematic around foe a DAC with those chips & pcm56 ?

Bernhard

The YM3623 has an output limited to 16Bits. As is the input of the YM3434. Just follow the datasheets.

B&O CD50 using YM2201

Hi

The CD50 player has no SPDIF out, and looking at the ym2201 pic and my schematic i see there is 3 unused pins in my player.. Pin53-SDSY, Pin52-SDO, Pin51- Ø2. These data and clk pin's is connected just before the Digtal filter and parallel output to the DAC. Could this be the serial data and clk's for the Digital Audio Transmitter like the YM3437 chip ?

Best regards

24/96 Upgrade for SPDIF Input Receiver YM3623b

I just found the following on the Internet:

YM-14-24: an Upgrade for Yamaha YM3623 Digital receiver (!!!!!!)
It is a SOIC to DIP Adapter Board.

Replaces the Jitter susceptible YM3623b Digital Input Receiver with the newer/better 24bit/96 kHz compatible CS 8414.

In comparison: CS8414 Jitter - 200ps, YM3623b Jitter – up to 5000ps.

Output (factory setting) is for 24 Bit, Left Justified Format.
Bitclock (BCK) Signal inverted
Onboard Reset-Function.

According to the information I read, this was mainly developed to enable Audio Note D/A converters to work with 24bit/96kHz.

My question: Can anybody tell if this can work appropriately also with other DACs which are originally using YM3632b?
