STRDE835 no sound from SUB

I have a STRDE835 receiver ( bought it second hand) and there is no signal to the sub. I have tried all the options in the setup but still no succes. Is there anything I need to tweak ? Please help.
I am using it without the sub now. My speaker system is a Sony SAVE 535H.

Make sure you have it connected correctly.

For 2 channels plus sub, set it to Auto Format Decode (AFD), and be sure Subwoofer=yes in the setup menu. It also would be good to use a digital connection from the cd/dvd player so that the receiver won't do another conversion. Is it possible that your subwoofer is broken? You can test it by (temporarily)plugging it into the rec out.
