Toshiba 3690 is it in Europe? (Or good value for money transport)

My CD player just died. As I am using an outboard DAC I am looking for a reasonable transport. Since everyone in the US seems to RAVE about this player.(although not as a transport per se)..and it is cheap...I thought why not get one and see what it is all about.

If the Toshiba is not available in Europe wat would be a good and cheap transport for my DAC's...I have a DDDAC1543 and am getting a RAKK DAC soon.

I am thinking of getting just a CD-ROM drive (easily modifiable?) and cheap.

Bas, I was impressed with the Panasonic S35 as a transport, even using the optical out (the only digital out, anyway).
You can easilly add a coax output on this.
The sound he puts out is a clear indication of a low jitter transport, muuuuuch better than previous generations Panasonics.
I changed internally the op-amp on the analog seccion for an OPA2132 with very interesting results, but ultimately a typical 1-bit sound

, bass is very tight but the hole presentation is a little flat un undynamic.
If you have an external DAC, try this player as a transport, I tried and liked it very much, it was really a surprize.
