Panasonic SA-Xr10
Does any one know if it is possible to set the xr10 to that it is able to play in 'bi-amp' mode by using 4 of the amp's channels to drive a pair of bi-wire speakers? Does this need re-programming of the chip? I tried using it in 'party' mode, but it did not soud right?! What other mods have been tried on this amp? Cheers Peter |

you can use the analog inputs to route signals to the different channels.
supposedly there is a 10 ms delay between the front and rear channels in party mode. i haven't tried it yet. if you want to biamp with a digital input you will most likely need to mod the box. |

Hi draughwurt,
Thanks for the input, but the 10ms delay makes the music sound disjointed. It also works from the digital in. I am happy to modify the box/chip, but need to know how. Is there a way to eliminate the 10ms delay? Peter |

well the factory default is 50 ms, so if you haven't changed it yet maybe 10 ms will sound better to you. without using the dvd-a analog inputs the only other way is to directly pump i2s singles to the surround channel amplifiers. shouldn't be too difficult, but I would suggest ordering the service manual. you might also want to read some of brian brown's posts in the digital amplifier thread you posted to. there is a lot of good info there.
