diy A/D converter

I'm looking for a nice project to build a A/D converter to use with a laptop pc for budget stereo recording... can anybody help?
Which ic can be used, can i interface it with usb or what?

Check Elektors USB ADC.

And use a decent clock. Once conversion is done, the error due to clock jitter is made, and contrary to DA conversion can never be restored..........
