I have an xbox which has the capability to play games in 5.1 surround (using TOSlink) however my pc only has a SPDIF input so i bought a TOSlisnk to SPDIF converter, it can play two channels in digital format but will not play more when set to 5.1 it just hisses/crackles. What is the problem?
Thanks |

You need a soundcard not only with an input capable of recognizing IEC61937 data i.e. Dolby/DTS/MPEG etc but also capable of decoding it or maybe passing on to the PC for decoding.
