Default Another clock idea TDA1541

Hi,

what about a crystal oszillator with n x 11.2896 MHz fed to a divide by n counter which gives again the right frequency.

Could be a crystal in overtone mode or a custom crystal with 9 x 11.2896 MHz ...

My idea is that hopefully short time frequency variations ( jitter ) will cancel each other out with averaging.

Also the absolute variations in the high frequency clock will be less ?

The divider chain will add lots of jitter. Overtone circuits are harder to get low phase noise, compared to a circuit that operates at around 10 MHz. (256 x Fs isn't that far off.)

I was thinking about using a prescaler IC as divider.
The kind of chip used in 1GHz counters.
