Hi,

Killed a cheap philips AK691 today. Strange player:
mitsubishi chipset inside and a RCD1 pick-up.
Nothing exiting.

The DAC seems to be a Y3016-f (hardly readable).
Think it is Yamaha YM3016. Found this so far, seems more people are looking for the datasheet.

Found this so far:

Here comes the pinout of the 3016, found in the German book "Sound am PC"

1 Vdd 2 Gnd 3 Vdd 4 Gnd 5 serial data in 6 /serial clock in
7 SMP 1 8 SMP 2 9 ICL (reset or mute?) 10 Channel 1 out
11 Channel 2 out 12 COM 13 BUF 14 MP (connected to 15)
15 BC (connected to 14) 16 RB

Seems to be a low-cost DAC, considering the rest of the player and that is was used on soundcards/game-consoles. But would be interested in some more info before i throw it out.

It's on page 32 of an databook, i know since i copied until page 28 :bawling: :bawling:

I have this CDP. It's a 2x oversampling 1989-built model AK698 USA Magnavox model, made in Austria.
Despite the low-cost components, and 2-digit display, the unit is built like a tank (incl. PCB, heavy-gauge metal cover and plastic chassis).

Do you/anyone have datasheet for the Y3016 chip -- mine is SMD, not DIP?

Thx!
