I measure with a 1kHz @ -60dB test CD and have a look at K2 - K9 with spectrum analyzer.

Maybe Philips emphasises on other measurements and/or has better measurement gear ( other interpretation included ) ?

Just a thought

Of the 0dB signal. That's why -60dB.

You doubt the accuracy of my analyzer ?

Have a look at the 1541 datasheet, Philips measures total THD over frequency.

So if K2 to K4 is low and K6 to K9 is low but K5 is terrible, total THD will still be low.

Which means if you have S1 it could be garbage.

Also it does not say if all orders are equal or if even or odd orders are dominating, but what I read in the solid state forum, that is very important.

I see that all

Default TO jean-paul ... post #6

Hi jean-paul.

I bought it from an official distributor of replacement parts of MARANTZ (i lost my thread there?!).

First i did not knew a source of distrubution. 2nd i heared about fakes in this forum. So i thought: this will be the safest way to get a "real double crown" from "Audiotronic/Germany".
