Not quite true - this isn't a fake...

Then I stand corrected .. if indeed yours is genuine.

With all this fever surrounding the TDA1541 chips and the special S1 and S2 selected versions, you'd think Philips would cottoned onto it by now and start re-manufacturing these chips.....

Maybe we should start a petition haha

On that pic the S2 was not printed at the same time as the TDA1541A, Andy's statement remains true.
They won't use different font set just for the S & 2, just a second machine to print
On the S and 2 on the main print it's obvious, the S2 is more fat. (and for me slanting a bit).

Sharp eyes! FWIW I agree, it does appear that S2 was printed separately.

Hi,

I just got a TDA1541A from Honk Kong with light brown print (after reclaiming when I got 2x TDA1541 instead of 1541A)
With production code: HSH0405 1 Y. Font is right.
Would indicate 2004 week 5??????

Yes. How do you think that are so many TDA1451 on the market? From Philips leftovers?

Well, if you want to bring fake 1541A on the market I think it is not very smart to put a production date on it that is immediately questioned. Isn't it?

More remarked fakes?
Click the image to open in full size.

I'd be guessing but looks like some regular TDA remarked. Look at how the crown and S1 are all over the place and vary in brightness.

Here's the fleabay auction.
Dual 16-bit DAC IC TDA1541A S1(Crown) TDA1541AS1 - eBay (item 320389202973 end time Apr-21-10 07:48:26 PDT)

Regards,
Dan

Dan,

The markings on genuine S1's are all over the place as they were hand-selected and stamped.
