I'm glad you liked it. I hope everyone, especially HPotter, noticed the TDA1541A "Crown DAC" sitting on the board mounted in anti-static foam. (Someone buy it. The DAC, not the player.)

I have a CD80 that I really rate, could you give details of what you have done, I'm at the start of a DAC project, with TDA1541 S1 with CS8412 I want to try zero OS and some nice I/V stages.

Actually I'm into AD 1865 tese days. To dispell the rumour that I'm into outdated chips I present the pic of my latest DAC with paralleled PCM1704 chips and separate transformer for ea. chip and rail.

It is not non o/s!!!!!!!! There is no TDA1541A S1!!!!!!!!

It uses the board that I made recently, you can see a picture of it in the "For Sale" area.

How CAN it be any good without the sacred TDA1541A (S1 of course) and all those extra samples (we dont know what they were wanted for). Actually I have not tried a Non OS Dac yet thats what I'm doing at the moment.

Your board looks really good. Too bad it cannot be used in balanced setup (or at least that was my impression). But to modify players it's perfect. Also the chips you are using, when implemented correctly sound terrific. Good idea is to use quality, separate VCXO.
Do you also have board to remotely control Alps pot. That might be of interest to quite a few people.

You can use it balanced with 2 mods.

1.) Run either the LData or RData into both DACs.

2.) Invert the phase pin on one of them.

Then you need 2 boards.

I use balanced for my setup, but none of the people I do work for have balanced. And it was designed to "fix up" players. I have other designs for stand alone D/As. But they do not sound as good as an "all-in-one" unit. Even when I design it.........

The pot came with the CD-80. I had to move it a bit to make it all fit. I think I have a few left from people who didn't need a volume control.
