Perhaps too long ago for the OP to be useful but here is another reasonable cheap one that I use as transport.

The Shanling Tempo EC1B
The transformer was noisy so I put some bitumen like dampening under it and on the very thin metal lid as well.
Ran a bit warm so I removed all 3 op amps and that helps some.
Reliable so far
Uses the Sanyo DV34 mechanism perhaps the same as Pro-Ject uses in their all metal version.
Transport is quiet when running not so when loading.
