Yes, I had similar impressions.

For me the dynamics are always in the secondary, refinement and proper focus are prorities. It also seems to me that dynamics are created here at the cost of thickening the sound and loosing the focus.

I also noticed that anti-parallel configuration sounds somewhat "veiled" with less presence and focus and somewhat "thicker", maybe more tubelike sounding, but not as fast, as I would prefer.

For the price and size, it's really hard to find more appealing coupling cap. I compared MIT RTXs, Hovlands and Jensens and in most cases I preferred BG N cap. MIT RTX seemed to be slightly better, but not by a big margin. BGs were also not fully broken in yet.

Hi Folks
This time my question is about yet another area of uncertainty.:xeye:

As previously mentioned, my intention is to create a nice little
integrated dac/amp combo for my portable listening.

For convenience and mass considerations I am keen to run the lot
from a single 8 cell Nimh battery pack.

The thing that has my head in a spin is connecting the dac to the amp!
Not really sure about the grounding issues..or what ,who, how
the voltage levels, errr confused...:cannotbe: :xeye::bawling:
I am basically unsure about the pot ground [being at half supply v] in relation the dac ground, the part the dacs 47K resistor [output cap to ground ] plays, as it does seem to be a path to ground for the virtual ground via the pot..

The amp circuit in question is the popular Pimeta headphone
amp.

Attached is the Pimeta schematic .

Sorry if this basic stuff, I realize you are all hardened campaigners;) :D

Can anyone enlighten me ?

Cheers

Ok.
So I have not exactly phrased a question concisely here..

Do I simply connect the dac L+Routs to the pot L+R inputs ?
And leave the pot Ground[virtual OV in respect to amp] floating
in respect to the DAC?

I am sure I am missing something blindingly obvious here:rolleyes: :cannotbe:

Cheers
