Question How do a quick & dirty non os in a CD650

Hi,

for further spectrum analysis measurements I like to turn a CD650 (SAA7220) to non oversampling.

How can that be done as simple as possible without installing low jitter clock boards ?

Hi, Search for Marco Amboldi in Italy. Currently his website is down.

Bernhard,

after you have rerouted the signals(use resistors),you can mute the 7220 (audible improvement). There is also the resistor between 5V and bitclock(IIRC) to tinker with.

It was very easy, I used wires ,only 1cm to 1,5 cm long, crossing the old tracks.

Just the muting does not work, maybe because I disconnected the pin 23 of SAA7220 from what it was connected before.

Also I have no 7210 but N4804A inside.

Sounds good, don't know if better, but first it strongly depends on the dac chip and second the distortions are higher, compared to os.

Please see S1 thread for details / spectrum.
