I have a Meridian 506 I'm trying to repair. A couple of faults.
1 tocs fine and starts to play for about 5 secs then just stops, no skips or anything, just stops as though its finished playing.
2 Strange one, when loading or unloading a disc the head moves part way through the loading or when closed it starts to move past its end stop and clicks as it keeps trying. Almost like it doesn't know when to stop, ive cleaned and realigned the microswitch but it makes no difference. Seems completely random but is consistent with the drawer opening and closing and sometimes the does it part way through the opening and closing which seems strange. Perhaps there is a voltage sag when the drawer motor is in operation causing something else to go amiss?
