who uses DVD player only playing CDs?

being a cheap-skate I tried DVD player Sony DVP-S530D, it has a headphone jack with volume control, shuffle key, all on the front panel. I am using it as a desktop CD player and sound is very good to my ear.

Only minor problem is it does not play CDR/CDRW discs..., a minor inconvenience. Now I am on a lookout for a matching Sony receiver. I am unsure which receiver is a perfect match...

Anyone know which "DVD player" also can play CDR/CDRW, shuffle function, headphone jack, with optical output all built in?

would be interested in others who are using DVD players for audio.

Hi in my secondary system, I use the sony bdp-s590 to play cd and sacd...
i like it because unlike many dvd/blu ray players that need a tv screen to navigate menu, this one is just pop in and play with no tv needed.
Also sacd support for so cheap is amazing.
