Wow...that's great.
Would there be a way without Boot-CD, I think this would be perfect.

Are you planing to show the schematics and source-code of the µP?

Marc
I believe it's possible to boot directly from cartridge without boot-cd, but I don't have enough skill's to do that. Maybe some day.

I probably will release schematics, but I have to first draw it. Now it's just in my head. Also source's after I clean them, it's a mess with all test crap.
Some day.. ;)

Hi everyone!
Thanks to this thread, I've managed to get a 5502, planning to mod it.
So far, listening through it's multi AV connection, it sounds great but comparing it to my m-audio 2496, there's one thing I'm not happy with: hiss noise. It's clearly noisier than my sound card, just the hiss.
Other than that, the sound is really promising.
My question is: anybody thinks that applying the output circuitry mod will lower the noise?
Or maybe it's from the power supply and I have to replace it with a linear one?
Many thanks!

ha ha ha .!!! you need a av cord which fixes a little tighter in av port of the console

check different av cords . that noise is due to loose connectivity but please dont

pressurise the av ports steel it will get loose even more .try 7001 cable in your 5502

i ve done it and the noise just disappeared . the problem is just earthing fixing with

a comfortable precise tight connection . enjoy !!! hope this helps....

I wish to use top end capcitors, can anyone instruct me how to and obtain Mundorf Mcap on the PS1. I see the tutorials on that site, but I've seen some really nice setup here on this site. I hope some of you professionals can show me some detailed pictures and what I need to make this project work. :D

Passive preamp

Hi,
I am using passive preamp Sonus Qualitas pvvm1. I modded a SCHP-5552 today and made a bypass as described by Mick Feuerbacher. I am using 10uF capacistors and 4,02Kohm resistors. I believed that the caps would eliminate the DC from the AKM, but nope. I have tested with a buffered preamp with decouplers and that sounds good. What must I do?
