Can someone explain the receivers that I can use with the TDA1543 DACs? I have used the CS8412, but I hear it is discontinued and replaced by the CS8416. Is the pinout the same? I have read that the CS8414 pin out is the same as the 8412, but it is SOIC. Is there a DIP version of the 8414, or is that the 8412?
Any explaination would be appreciated. |

The CS8412 might be obsolete, but you can still buy it everywhere. The CS8414 is a very similar later chip capable of 96kHz S/PDIF, which in most applications works as a drop-in replacement for the CS8412. AFAIK it is not available in a DIP case, but you can buy SOIC-to-DIP-adaptors.
You can use both CS8412 and CS8414 with the TDA5143 DACs. |
