Hi,
We have developed a IC which supports transmission of digital audio over 1394 bus. For the validation of this IC, we need some audio device which can give us data in the SPDIF format or I2S format. (Some CD player or some other data)
We need some info on which device to use for this validation.
Please suggest.

The "digital out" port of most standard CDROMS is a 2-pin connector that emits data in SPDIF format. There is a lot of info from the minidisc modding world of using that spdif output for digitally transfering data to MD players. That's about the easiest way to do it. Other than that, I play CDs in my DVD player using SPDIF to my receiver all the time.
