broken CD gear

Hello, I wonder what people do in my case.. I have a fractured gear, the one attached to the laser movement motor.

it is barely visible on the photo.

it is form an expensive Esoteric SA-60 cd drive.

esoteric gives no answer whatsoever.

is there a place who sells gears ?

If you could identify the mechanism (Philips, Sanyo, Sony etc) then you might stand a chance of getting hold of one.

I've sometimes repaired gears like this by being able to place a small circlip over the lower part of the gear to hold it together.
