NO, it's the power cable for the display pcb. It's white instead of black! Much better sound
Anyway, this particular player is scrapped some time ago. Needed the display controller to fix a CD60.

Phil CD50 and SAA7220 PSU Bypassing
I have still-stock Philips CD50 (mfg date January 1990) that looks very similar inside. Same main board, plus another board mounted on right side with Variable Volume RCA outs.
I know this may not be the correct thread, but for bypassing of +5V rail on SAA7220 what would be better: Black Gate NX 33u/16v, Black Gate NX 220u/6.3v, Panasonic FC 220u, or OSCON SP series? Are OSCONs still being manufactured?
