Are 1541A S2's still available?

I have been reading through this forum triying to decide between a 1543 or 1541 project.

The subjective comments on 1541 vs 1543 (dynamics, sweetness, ...) have me leaning towards the 1541. My system is already a bit "forward" and could use some "warmth".

In either case I am going to use a passive stepped atenuator. I don't think this can be accopmlished with either chip without an active output stage, right?

Since one of the main advantages of the 1543 is being able to delete the active stage, I am further drawn towards the 1541.

The 1543 seems easier to acquire, dddac.de has a good kit.

Where can I find a good board for the 1541 and what flavors of the 1541 (A vs N? S1? S2?) are still available? for how much?

The datasheet I have found for the 1541 does not discuss the difference in the versions?
