Hi,
I've been offered a Behringer 8024 at a very good price. It also includes the AES/EBU module. However my CD has SPDIF out so i'm looking for a SPDIF -> AES/EBU converter. Does anyone have a schematic or link to a schematic? AES/EBU -> SPDIF is not a problem. This is my plan: CD -> Behringer -> DAC Thx |

This has a good discussion of AES/EBU v's S/PDIF and some conversion schematics. I read it recently but I can't remember the exact URL. Have a surf and I'm sure you'll find.it. It's a great site ......

Lundahl has a transformer that does the conversion nicely, the LL1574. See it at www.lundahl.se.

A transformer can only convert SPDIF into balanced digital.
SPDIF is 500mV into 75 ohms. AES/EBU interface is rather different. It is balanced 5V into 110 ohms. Also AES coding differs from SPDIF, although most DAC chips accept either to give audio out. |
