Hi Jim,

INV pin means the switched pin to activate the inverted phase mode of the DAC. At some older DAC ICs this was realized to use this DACs in full symmetrical applications. Check the datasheet of your DAC if this pin is available and how to switch. 0V and 5V would be like ground and V_supply – but check datasheet.

Most newer DACs have no more INV mode, therefore they frequently have symmetrical outputs. Here one Inv-relay can solve the issue. I realized one INV-relay at my Aleph P1.7 preamp, so each signal source can be inverted.

relay inverter

Hi Jim,

Use a relay with two times change-contact, if you know what I mean. Connect it like shown.

I placed my inv-relay right in front of the input coupling cap of my Aleph P1.7 preamp. It works perfect!

Regards

Klaus
