Pioneer PD-S501 CD Player Schematic Wanted/Or Help!! - Page 4

Hi

I have a PD-S701 and i need them's schematic. Can anyone help me with that ?

I onder to know if anyone has already change one of this or a similar and if so what the best things to change to transformer this in a superior player / transport.

Well my modifications to the PDS-504 are complete. I have replaced the op-amp (4588DD) with an AD8066 (two channel version of the AD8065) fitted to a 8pin DIL socket adaptor. I fitted a high quality gold DIL socket to the Pioneer’s PCB (which I needed to splay the pins a little due to Pioneer PCB footprint being designed to take 8pin DILs without the pins ‘aligned’).

I also replaced the DC blocking 100uF Nichicon FMs in the signal path with my favourite caps Elna SILMICs 47uF (the same I use in my DPA Little Bit 3 DAC). I replaced the rail smoothing 220uF Nichicon’s near the op-amp with 220uF Elna RJH’s.

That’s it nothing drastic or expensive; after all it’s a budget CD player so I didn’t want to go mad with exotic components.

The sound; nothing short of a transformation. Bass is much much more extended and controlled, highs a little too crystal clear for me but the caps may bed in. The low level ‘noise mush’ I noticed from the output previously is completely gone. These modifications were well worth the time and effort.

Trouble is it’s still not as clear of defined as the DPA Little Bit 3 which is sublime, but I’ve only listened to two CD’s so far and will give it a couple of weeks before I swap the op-amp to something different for a try!

it helped me to repair my honey... i got it wrecked and it didn´t roll the cd.
There was one diode shorted and someone had turned the laser trimmers

The S504 has electriclal digital out so just copy that players interface. I think the S704 has an optical one as well?
I am quite happy with the electrical digital out on my S504 it measures and sounds very well.

Hi smario , the CXD 2500Q (PDS 501's decoder)already comes with SPDIF out (pin 60 ) but not implemented in the 501 . I have an implementation sheme with 74HC00 and a trans from my DENON DCD 860 .

The pds501 has CXA1372S and PD2026A chip. Does anybody knows where is digital out signal on this player? Maybe someone has some datasheets or service manuals?
