My 63Ki has the usual ageing laser fault where it struggles to read a disc or at best glitches when playing.
Over the last few months I have bought two eBay replacement lasers at around £15 each. Neither have worked at all and I've struggled to get a refund. I bought an old CD48 and tried the laser from that which worked to a degree but often skipped and glitched. I know it's not my installation as the cd48 one works to a degree.
Does anyone know where I can get a known good laser that is tried and trusted to work? This is starting to get frustrating!

The CDM12.3 is physically different (the chassis). CDM12.1's are an old device tbh. I wouldn't like to suggest a source for these as I suspect many will be as troublesome as the CDM12.4's available today.
I just tried the usual suspects for trade parts in the UK and none have them listed.
There is Donberg but I can't vouch for the provenance of the parts,
