Default Tuning modifications for Weillang DAC AK4495?

Got my new Weiliang AK4495 PCB running and it sounds very nice out of the box. Very good board.

For the older 4399, some diy's had done pretty modifications.

Any suggestions to calm down harsh highs in voices and adding more musicality to the device? Any suggestion for parts?

I will give it a week for burn-in, first.

In the meantime I will have a closer look for audiophile capacitors

Maybe we can write about all mods for this marvelous dac PCB in this thread.

My Weilliang AK4495 dac came with LM49860 preinstalled.

What do you think about this opamp?

Dual converted OPA627or Burson discrete a good alternative?

I plan to connect my dac to an tube pramp.

Power supplies are what I'd attack - these kinds of DAC chip are fairly sensitive to supply decoupling. Get lots and lots of 10uF 1206 ceramic caps and parallel them up across the DAC's analog supply rails. Then do the same across the output opamps' supply pins.

Exchanging the opamp to the Burson Audio discrete was a good decision:

Huge improvement!

Now I will have a closer look to the power supplies as suggested

I soldered today the 7pin asynchronous XMOS USB module but nothing happens.
(MAC OS X 10.10) If a usb cable the the dac isn't recognized nor manual selectable.

Is there more to do?

Any ideas?

What XMOS USB module did you buy?
Post what's happening.
I have the same DAC and want to buy XMOS, gain is too big for my tube preamp as well.
