Arcam Alpha 5 CD Player

HI,
My arcam alpha 5 cd player has developed a fault, the sound has suddenly developed a high degree of distortion and sibilance in both channels. I suspect that the DAC (TDA1541a) may have developed a fault.
Can anyone help?:(
